Petoskey Pointe - The Big Dig

Here is a photo I took on Friday morning showing the progress being made on the Petoskey Pointe project. Unseasonably warm weather in Petoskey so far this winter has meant very favorable conditions for excavation and construction of the foundation. An underground parking structure is planned for the site.

Oh the humanity of it. Why would they do it to thee sacred place of my youthage? I am hit, the pain, is it mine? the wound, so deep, upward flowing, overflowing it's bounds....

this is the only way i can descrive my feelings.

I really don't think Petoskey can support a 17 story apt complex. P-Pointe is supposed to have 17 story's correct? And the retractable roof 50,000 seat stadium for the Petoskey football team? COME ON!

Rumor down in Metro Detroit is that all construction operation has stopped and that the project has been cancelled. Is this accurate?

That is sad about the "big hole". I was pulling for Petoskey, but it looks like this whole development was nothing but a red herring. Sorry P-Town.

Maybe the city can get possession of the property and make a parking garage out of the P-Pte site. That is what Petoskey really needs.

According to the information available to me, I have determined that this project's foundation will be started and completed before suspension of the work season. If final financing is in place by spring, the steel work will begin as soon as weather allows. Hopefully the structure will be enclosed by late fall.

I just read your note about the information available to you. How accurate is/was that information? It's starting to get close to the end of the season.
